Crochet pattern — "Christmas Drums"

A pattern for three beautifully detailed and traditional Christmas drums — with thorough photo guides for every step.

These drums are a tribute to my own childhood Christmas memories at my grandparents' house, and I am proud to have created a pattern that brings those joyful memories back — for me, and hopefully for you and your loved ones too.

The drums are perfect as Christmas tree ornaments, hanging on twig branches, or as table decorations for Christmas lunches and dinners.

Generally for my patterns, the hook size can be changed to fit your own gauge.
When using a different hook size than specified, there may be size variations compared to my figures, but this is of little importance as long as you are consistent in your choices.

Materials:

• Crochet hook 3.0, or according to your own gauge
• Cotton yarn 8/4, 170 m per 50 g
  Primary colour (white) = approx. 3 g per drum
  Secondary colour (red) = approx. 2 g per drum
• Brocat Lurex Glimmer, 350 m per 50 g — Gold = approx. 1.5 g per drum
• Stuffing
• Needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

st = stitch
mr = magic ring
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
FLO = front loop only
BLO = back loop only
inv dec = invisible decrease (insert hook into FLO of next 2 sts, pull through and pull yarn through both loops)
inc = increase
*-* x ? = Repeat x number of times
(number) = total stitch count for the round
rnd = round
row = row
