Crochet pattern — "The Carnival Team"

"The Carnival Team" is the perfect decoration for when you want to make something special out of Fastelavn — the beloved Danish carnival tradition.
These figures help create a festive mood and make great conversation pieces with children when talking about costumes.
Leave out the granules and use extra stuffing to make lighter figures — perfect for hanging on a larger fastelavn branch.

The pattern includes the white figure as well as a crown, a mask, and a barrel bat.

Generally for my patterns, the hook size can be changed to fit your own gauge.
When using a different hook size than specified, there may be size variations compared to my figures, but this is of little importance as long as you are consistent in your choices.

Materials:

• Crochet hook: 3.0 (primary) + 1.5 for lace yarn, or according to your own gauge
• Cotton yarn 8/4, 170 m per 50 g
• Cotton lace, 280 m per 50 g
• Brocat Lurex, 350 m per 50 g
• Stuffing = 6 g per figure
• Granules in nylon stocking = 6 g per figure
• Needle
• Scissors

Figure — White = 15 g each

Crown
   Bordeaux (with gold glitter) 8/4 = 1 g
   Gold, Brocat Lurex = 1 g
   Stuffing = 0.5 g

Mask — Black, cotton lace = 1 g

Barrel bat — Beige, cotton lace = 1 g | Stuffing = 0.5 g

Abbreviations:

st = stitch
mr = magic ring
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
bob = bobble stitch
FLO = front loop only
BLO = back loop only
inv dec = invisible decrease
inc = increase
*-* x ? = Repeat x number of times
(number) = total stitch count for the round
rnd = round
row = row
